The video above caught my attention and I wanted to share it with you. The message from NPR radio host, Ira Glass, gives promise to anyone and everyone that wants to do something creative.
There are two books you can read to learn more about the creative process. Both are by Steven Pressfield.
The War of Art addressed resistance. Do the Work pushes you further through what is needed to become the creative person you want to be. Both books are worth reading and rereading.
One of the most creative influences in my life has been Jim Henson. Jim always pushed the envelope. He worked hard; harder than anyone else on his team. Jim was never happy where he was. He always wanted to push further. He died working hard.
Give your work the best chance possible by working hard, failing, recovering, accepting criticism; but not letting it crush you. Improve. Grow. Don’t give up. Never, never, never give up.
Fight to be creative. The world needs you.
