How to improve your SEO rank

How to improve your SEO rank

By Al Getler

You are being judged by your digital platform as we speak.

Google yourself right now. Go ahead. Open up a new window in your browser and Google your name.

So, what happened? Did you lead the list of people with your name? No?

How far down were you on the list? Was your name associated with your profession? Did everything you want to see in the Google search make it to the top?

While it is not the only answer to improving your search rank results, paying close attention to your digital platform will help.

If you sell a product or service you need a digital platform. If you run a company, no matter how big or small, you need a digital platform for your company. If you run a non-profit organization, your organization needs a digital platform. If you are a sole proprietor selling a product, service or your time, you need a digital platform.

Building Your Platform Live April 2 Event

On April 2, 2013, three well-informed speakers will talk about your digital platform including how to build it, how to raise its visibility via search engine optimization (SEO) and how to convert your traffic into sales with inbound marketing.

Michael Hyatt Platform University

Michael Hyatt
Platform University

Michael Hyatt, author of the book Platform: Getting Noticed in a Noisy World. The day is dedicated to building your platform, getting noticed and turning your platform into real business. Hyatt’s talk will be based on his book and I can tell you first hand that you will learn a great deal from him.

In May 2012, I converted my website into a self-hosted WordPress blog site. I used Hyatt’s blueprint described in his book to get the job done. I was so impressed with him that I headed down to NYC to see him speak at an event called Blog World in June. He was a great speaker and very informative and I just knew I had to bring him to the North of Boston region.

During his talk, Hyatt will also discuss what he refers to as your ‘embassies’ on Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Pinterest and other social media sites.

Inbound Marketing

Hubspot is a growing Boston area start-up company and I am excited that one of the founders and the CEO, Brian Halligan, will also join our discussion on April 2.

Halligan and his team have created tools that bring customers to you through your digital content using what is known as ‘inbound marketing’. I have attended Hubspot conferences on inbound marketing and have used their product. You will be blown away but what you can accomplish with inbound marketing.
Halligan is also the author of the book Inbound Marketing-Get Found Using Google Social Media and Blogs

Are you SEO friendly?

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is what allows your presence and platform on the web to be found by others. Get found enough and you quickly become an expert. Why? Because when someone uses Google, Bing or Yahoo to search for your product, service, etc. they find you at the top of the list.
