Hubspot CEO Brian Halligan and Inbound Marketing

Brian Halligan never quite fits the role of traditional CEO.
Earlier this year Brian did a tremendous favor for me and spoke at an event at Merrimack College in North Andover, MA.
Brian walked into the lecture hall looking every bit the professor whose class I would have never missed in college. He had a backpack; look a little disheveled and wore his perpetual smile.
When it was Brian’s turned to speak, he approached the front of the room like he was completely unprepared for the occasion. Then he knocked the cover off of the ball. His talk about inbound marketing and the company he co-founded, Hubspot, was an education for many people in the room that did not know marketing had gone through a dramatic change.
Hubspot, once a Cambridge, MA start-up with an idea of turning content into sales leads has now grown to a company with over 8,000 customers. It is the talk of the town and continues to grow. Each year it puts on a great conference that teaches and motivates with inbound marketing at its core.
