Our Grand Marshals – Gail and Mark Horne and Family

Gail and Mark Horne have been the owners and operators of Keeler Bay Variety since 1974. Their service to this community goes far beyond simply running a store. They have been there for us through thick and thin. Whether adjusting quickly during the pandemic, allowing groups to raise funds at their doors, or getting out of bed to provide food and hot coffee as emergency crews do their work, they are here for us. Not to mention the islanders they have employed and mentored over the years.

We lost Mark between 4th of July celebrations. It was always the intent to name Gail and Mark the Grand Marshals. The Horne family will instead be there in Mark’s memory. Thank you, Mark!

Our theme of “We the people” celebrates the 250th birth of our nation, its people, and all of its history. We especially want to celebrate role our islands and waterways played in this history. Please use the logo theme abundantly.

Our parade is always rich with farm equipment, floats, vehicles, music, marching groups, and many surprises! Each year we honor or law enforcement and our Fire and EMS volunteers. Won’t you join us?
